About Me

Ever since I was little, I loved to compete. With two older sisters, I had the perfect chance to do so daily. Playing sports, reading books, doing homework - whatever it was - I always wanted to keep up with my big sisters. Let me tell you: they didn’t always make it easy for me!

My name is Hanna Burkhart, and I am a junior at Sullivan High School. I am so grateful to be part of the new Sullivan County CEO program. I like setting goals for myself and am constantly trying to learn and grow from my experiences - whether it be running cross country, playing tennis, traveling, etc. From my years as a runner, I have time and time again realized the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, and I rarely perform anything in life without these qualities showing up. Just as in anything in life, preparation is key, and I know I never want to step up to the start line of a race without having conditioned my body and mind to succeed.

I also serve as Treasurer for Sullivan High School’s Key Club which has allowed me to organize and participate in various events and service projects throughout my town. Being part of the Beta Club, FCA, NHHS, and NHS at my school has taught me the importance of leadership but also of working as a team. I believe being involved in all that I am makes me a better time manager and helps me learn to be successful and make time for things despite my busy schedule. When I’m not at school or sports practices, I love to spend time with my family and friends and travel. I also love to read a good book, boat, and snow ski. After I graduate high school, I plan on attending college to receive a business degree. I would like to stay in the area and do something in the business field. What that is I am not yet sure, but I believe that my experience in our CEO Program this year will help me figure that out. I am so excited to see what the CEO program has in store for me in the coming year as well as after.
