Gracey Houston

About Me

My name is Gracey Houston, but I prefer to go by just Houston. I’m from Linton Indiana. I am 19, & currently a senior in highschool, at Dugger Union Community Schools. I am employed at Walmart, at first I hated it, but it is an easy job, and have come to enjoy working there now. The people are nice, and I do a pretty good job. Although I work hard, I still find time for hobbies and friends. I like to paint, draw, cook, bake, write, hang out with friends, and learn new things.

I am not sure what I want to do with my life after I graduate. I was thinking of maybe going to college to be a psychologist, a pharmacist, or dentist. I am not sure yet, but I still have time to decide. From a young age, I have always enjoyed cooking and learning about new foods/recipes. I have also thought about opening a restaurant, but I haven’t made up my mind yet. I hope to have figured it out by the time I graduate. 

In my free time, I like to hang out with my best friend of five years. We do a lot of different things, we have a lot of the same interests. We like to cook together, watch movies/shows, and just talk about everything. We make good memories, anytime we are together. 

I also want to travel when I get older, and save or invest my money. I have a few goals, but I am not that goal oriented. My goals include: saving money, travelling, getting more tattoos, and figuring out what I want to do with my life. 

I am not sure that I want to attend college, or at least not for a long time. So that narrows down my list of things I wanna be when I grow up, because most of them take at least 4 years. I may end up still going to college for something that takes longer than what I originally intended, just because I don’t know what else to do. I don’t want to settle though, either way. 

I like school, but I am ready to graduate and move on with my life. Indiana has been fun, but I definitely want to move out of state. I have not sure where yet, but possibly California or Arizona. I also want to adopt, and start a family. But that would be later on in life, possibly in my late 20’s or early 30’s. But it all depends on when I finally decide what I want to do. My favorite animals are monkeys, but I have a cat instead. I imagine me and my cat, moving to Arizona or California, and starting a business. We will see what really happens when I figure out my life plan.
